Xbox and PowerPC
Noticed at Ars Technica yesterday and Wired today about a joint announcement issued recently about how “Microsoft has licensed leading-edge semiconductor processor technology from IBM for use in future Xbox products and services to be announced at a later date.” It was also confirmed that this processor technology was a PowerPC and that it was going to be the main processor.

The Worst Answering Machine Message
I think I just possibly left the worst answering machine message in my life a couple of moments ago. Now I know why I hate those fucking machines. Never leaving a message again! Wow, though.

Fluoride
While making my daily round at Slashdot today I was intrigued by a comment made in one of the stories. To quote:
Thanks to an agreement between Lindows and Seagate, from October you will be able to choose a hard drive with or without Lindows. Michael Robertson, in his usual marketing speak, compares this to adding "Fluoride in the water", because now you get for free something you used to need to go after (people used to go to dentist to get their fluoride).
What the fuck is he talking about? I don’t want fluoride in my water. Does Mr. Robertson know anything about fluoride? Well, probably as much as the general public, which isn’t a whole lot.

The Delphic Expanse
The Delphic Expanse. The theme of this season of Enterprise takes place where the season finale left off. Earth was attacked by a mysterious race called the Xindi and now Enterprise is set with the task to figure out who the fuck they are. Sounds pretty lame and I was kind of worried that they were going to ruin what I figured was a pretty good addition to the series (though I have determined I am a minority.)

Tobacco Joints
I’m sitting here about to write some brilliant insights while Wyner rolls T-man a “personal” joint… of “tobacco” of course. Just read Rev’s journal where he extols the seemingly infinite “rockitude” of the Iliad. Then he said he had no weed, which saddens me, considering we have more than no weed… we have weed. Oh well… the suckitude of living in K-Town when no dealers are there, eh Rev?

Summer
Well looks like it’s time for my periodic journal update. Not a whole lot of spectacular shit going on in my life right now, but what do you expect? It’s the summer! Strange, how when you were younger, everything exciting happened in the summer because school was a pretty big drag (up until the later years of high school were I actually learned some things mildly interesting.) Now, I can’t wait to go back. It’s kind of funny, actually. I believe I was conversing with Colin and for some reason forgot that we had the month of August (a common mistake, I assure you) and mentioned something along the lines of:

McGill Justice
Hmmm… today was mighty uneventful. Well, not completely. I had my father (the lawyer) look over my contract with Digital Ideas, Inc. today to see if it was nice and kosher. It was except for a few paragraphs which I promptly changed and fired back to Wayne. Other than that, I did about two point five hours of programming, fired that off to David and that essentially highlights my day… or does it?

My First Real Job
Well I’m pretty tired but I want to record my thoughts with respect to my first real job (i.e. job were my work is actually pretty important.) Yesterday afternoon I drove out to London, Ontario to meet my summer employer Wayne. I was really quite sure what they did but after receiving a three hour product tour, I was pretty familiar with what it was and who would buy it. They’ve actually done some pretty neat stuff with it.

To Boldy Go
It’s about 2:44 AM and I’m just chilling at my computer after a week of doing nothing. Luckily my job starts next week either Wednesday or Thursday, depending on what my boss says when he finally gets back to me.

G Test
On my way to drive back to Toronto to drop off the old van I was lucky enough to run into the Rev as I was seeing Jenn out and asked if he wanted to come for the ride. Normally sane people usually refuse propositions like this, but Rev and I hadn’t had a good, long conversation in a while and as luck would have it he accepted.
